Your privacy

We manage your personal information carefully and in accordance with relevant legislation. If you make a complaint and we determine to refer your complaint to another agency, the information you provide to us, including your personal details, will be forwarded to that agency for the purposes of addressing your complaint.

Legal protections when making a complaint

We may decide your complaint is a public interest disclosure (or whistleblower complaint). All complaints to us are assessed for public interest disclosure eligibility. This means your matter is subject to greater protections and restrictions.

Anyone can complain to us about public sector corruption and police misconduct.

For more detail on how we handles personal information and privacy complaints, please see our Information privacy policy.

For more detail on how information is managed when you access and interact with IBAC's website, please see our website privacy statement.

Providing information

Information you provide to IBAC, including personal information such as your contact details should you choose to provide it, may be passed on to another agency if IBAC determines it is appropriate for that agency to consider.

You may provide information to IBAC anonymously. This may limit any investigation by IBAC or another agency because we cannot contact you to obtain more information, or discuss the matter with you.
